The president of the Washington County Adult Center in Dewey has been charged with embezzling money from the center.

The Washington County District Attorney filed the charge this week against 54-year-old Michael Cobb.

In an affidavit filed with the court, Dewey Police say Cobb is accused of fraudulently appropriating over $90,000 in federal and state funds for his personal use.

Police said Cobb admitted to using the money to gamble at local casinos and pay personal debts, the affidavit states.

The Washington County Adult Center opened in 1980 and its website says it provides a place for seniors, 50 and over to access socialization, education and other services.
