Oklahoma State (8-0, 5-0) came from behind to beat Texas Tech (5-4, 2-4) 70-53 on Saturday in Lubbock. Here’s some instant analysis, stick around for the full recap:

What it means

OSU struggled early but it doesn’t matter. A win is a win and at this point, the No. 12 Cowboys are 8-0 and could climb into the top 10. The dream of the College Football Playoff is alive and well in Stillwater.

What went well

Coach Mike Gundy’s halftime speech must have, because OSU was a different squad in the second half. The Cowboys outscored Tech 42-15 after the break to pull away from the pesky Raiders.

What didn’t

As it did against Kansas State, OSU’s defense came out and struggled mightily early on. The Pokes almost buried themselves into an insurmountable hole, but the offense bailed them out again. This OSU defense has proven to be good in the long run, but they’ve got to cut down on the shaky starts.

Game ball

J.W. Walsh continues to be much more than just a gadget QB. Walsh threw just five times on Saturday, but completed four for 167 yards and two touchdowns. He also led the Cowboys on the ground with 80 yards and another score. Give Walsh a lot of credit for remaining ready to play.

Who’s next

It’s goin’ down forreal next Saturday in Stillwater. Big, bad TCU (8-0. 5-0) comes to town for what will essentially be an elimination game for the Final Four. Expect one of the rowdiest crowds in years to greet the fifth-ranked Frogs. Kick time from Boone Pickens is set for 2:30 p.m.
