Tulsa Police will soon have 19 new officers and one fire marshall. The department announced the new law enforcement officers will be graduating at 11 a.m. Friday, November 6 at the Tulsa Police Training Academy, 6066 East 66th Street North.
The recruits are finalizing 27 weeks of training.
"They have completed more than 1,047 hours of instruction, which included legal, firearms, defensive tactics, driver’s training, report writing and officer survival," records show.
Next up for the new officers: a 16-week training program in the field. Officers in training will do so at each of the department's patrol divisions: Gilcrease, Mingo Valley and Riverside. Upon completion of field training, they will be assigned to the fill vacancies in the patrol divisions.
