Man Pleads Guilty In 2014 Tulsa Shooting Death
TULSA, Oklahoma - A shooting suspect who set off a Tulsa Amber Alert in January of 2014 has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Marquis Morris is charged with shooting Lemont Watson and then kidnapping an 11-year old girl. Tulsa Police issued an Amber Alert, but it was canceled a short time later after the girl called police from a QuikTrip at 61st and Memorial. She told officers Morris had dropped her off.
Morris was originally charged with murder, but that charge was reduced to manslaughter. He was also charged with first-degree burglary and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Morris was sentenced to three concurrent 20-year sentences.
