Suspect Jumps From Moving Tulsa Police Car

Tulsa Police said a suspect jumped or fell from a moving police car on the Broken Arrow Expressway Tuesday night.

Police were taking Erik Johnson, 30, to the Tulsa County jail. As the patrol car approached downtown Tulsa's IDL, Johnson unbuckled his seat belt and opened the door. The officer quickly slowed down before Johnson fell out and onto the highway.

Johnson was taken to the hospital for scrapes and bruises and then on to jail.

Police booked Johnson on complaints of domestic assault and battery, public intoxication, escape from arrest and interfering with a police officer.

Jail records show Erik Johnson has a court appearance set for November 12.
