Oklahoma City police are investigating the city’s 82nd homicide of 2015, after a stabbing victim died from his injuries on Wednesday.

According to police, at about 6:20 p.m. on Friday, November 6, officers responded to the report of an assault with a dangerous weapon in the 300 block of N.W. 29th Street. When officers arrived, they found the victim, Darryl Eugene Hillard, covered in blood suffering from stab wounds.

Hillard was transported to the hospital. He told officers that he was assaulted by 71-year-old Gary Clodfelter of St. Louis, Missouri.

Police learned that a verbal altercation occurred between the victim and Clodfelter, which escalated into Clodfelter stabbing the victim.

Officers located Clodfelter shortly after the incident. He was arrested on a complaint of assault with a dangerous weapon.

On Wednesday, November 25, police learned that the victim has died as a result of his injuries. Clodfelter remains in police custody pending the District Attorney’s decision regarding amending the current charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.
