THE STORYLINES . . .
•  Tulsa football is under new direction as Philip Montgomery was named the 29th head coach in school history on December 11, 2014.
•  Tulsa has the smallest undergraduate enrollment of FBS schools with 3,473 students. 
•  Against common opponents this year, Tulsa is 2-3 and Tulane is 1-4.
•  Tulsa has equaled its last two-year win total (5) with a current 5-6 record this year.
•  Tulsa ranks third in the American Athletic Conference in total offense with 511.4 yards, while Tulane ranks seventh in total defense, allowing 412.6 yards per game.
•  Senior receiver Keyarris Garrett set an American Athletic Conference record in Tulsa's 7th game with 268 yards and 3 TDs on 14 catches vs. #17 Memphis.
•  Garrett has accepted an invitation to play in the 91st Annual East-West Shrine Game, Jan. 23, 2016, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.
•  Tulsa junior linebackers Matt Linscott and Trent Martin are one-and-three in the American Athletic Conference in tackles for lost yards . . . Linscott has 16 and Martin has 14 TFLs.
•  Martin also leads the league with four forced fumbles.
•  Tulsa has had 28 of its 46 offensive touchdown drives in regulation that have come under two minutes for a .609 percentage . . . 16 Tulsa TD drives have been under one minute this year.
•  Tulsa 's defense has totaled 20 takeaways this year after going the first seven quarters of the season without forcing a turnover.
•  Tulsa has four active receivers this year with over 400 yards receiving (Keevan Lucas also had 409 yards in 4 games before suffering a season-ending injury) . . . Tulsa also has three running backs with 400+ rushing yards.
 
THE SERIES . . .
•    This is the 12th meeting between Tulsa and Tulane.
•    Tulsa leads the series 9-2-0 and won last year's home game by a score of 38-31 in two overtimes.
•    Tulsa has a 3-2 mark in New Orleans, 1-0 in Monroe and 5-0 in Tulsa.
•    After losing the first game in the series in 1968, Tulsa won the next eight games, from 2005-2012, before dropping the 2013 game, 14-7, in New Orleans.
•    During that streak of eight consecutive wins, Tulsa had a winning margin of 30.9 points.
•    Tulsa has a 28.3 win margin in its nine overall wins while Tulane has an 8.5 win margin in its two victories.
 
TULSA AGAINST HIGH OCTANE OFFENSES . . .
•    Tulsa has faced four of the nation's current top-20 offenses, based on total offense, this season –– No. 4 Cincinnati, No. 6 Oklahoma, No. 11 Memphis and No. 16 Houston.
•    Tulsa also has one of the top offenses, now ranked 12th nationally, with an average of 511.4 yards per game.
•    In Tulsa's games against the top-15 ranked offenses, the two teams have combined for over 1,000 yards in each game –– Tulsa and Cincinnati combined for 1,240 yards . . . vs. Oklahoma, the two teams combined for 1,376 yards . . . Tulsa and Houston combined for 1,094 yards . . . vs. Memphis, the two teams combined for 1,238 yards
•    In those four games, Tulsa and its opponents have combined for 4,948 yards and 347 points, averages of 1,237 yards per game and 86.8 points per game
 
GARRETT IN 4th PLACE ON TULSA'S ALL-TIME RECEIVING CHART. . .
•    Keyarris Garrett came into the Memphis game with 2,319 receiving yards to rank 12th on the school's career receiving chart.
•    After a 268-yard performance against the #17 Tigers, Garrett jumped seven spots on Tulsa's all-time receiving list into 5th place with 2,587 yards.
•    Garrett now has 2,856 career yards and sits in 4th place, needing 96 yards to move into a tie with Damon Savage (1996-99) for 3rd place.
 
MUDOH AMONG TOP-5 ON SCHOOL'S TACKLES LIST . . . 
•    Senior safety Michael Mudoh now has 387 career tackles to rank in 5th place on the school's all-time tackles chart.
•    Mudoh trails 4th by one tackle (388 by Robert Tennon, 1976, '78-80) 3rd place by two tackles (389 by Michael White, 1987, '89-91) and 2nd place by 14 stops (401 by Shawn Jackson, 2010-13).
•    Mudoh's 116 tackles this year for a 10.9 average ranks 9th in the nation.
•    Mudoh has 20 double-figure tackle games in 35 career starts . . . he had his 20th career double-digit game against UCF with 13 stops.
 
EVANS NOW FOURTH ON TULSA CHARTS . . .
•    Dane Evans has moved into the top-5 on the school's all-time charts for passing, total offense and passing TDs.
•    Evans has thrown for 7,591 career yards to move into 4th place on the school's career passing chart.
•    Only a junior, Evans is 1,733 yards shy of T.J. Rubley (1987-91) for 3rd place on the school's all-time passing chart.
•    His 46 passing touchdowns ranks in 5th place on the school chart for passing TDs, trailing David Johnson (2005-08) by two TD passes for 4th place.
•    Evans has 7,683 yards of total offense to rank 4th on the school's career list . . . he is 1,397 yards shy of T.J. Rubley (1987-91) for 3rd place.  
 
MARTIN HAVING BIG YEAR . . .
•    Due to injuries plaguing his career, the most games junior linebacker Trent Martin had played in a season was nine as a red-shirt freshman in 2012 and last year a sophomore . . . he received a medical hardship in 2013, playing in only four games.
•    This year, Martin has played in all 11 games and is second in tackles with 90 stops.
•    He also has 14 tackles for -31 yards, two sacks for -5 yards, four forced fumbles, three PBUs and one fumble recovery.
•    Martin ranks first in the American Athletic Conference with four forced fumbles and is third in the league with his 14 TFLs.
•    Martin had a career-high 14 tackles and added a fumble recovery against #16 Navy.
