Tulsa police say a man drove up to a Sonic Drive-In at Pine and Peoria after 7 a.m. on Friday morning and threatened a carhop at gunpoint.

Jessie Franklin Truitt III, 24, demanded money from the carhop who was delivering his food, TPD said. She refused his demands for money, and Truitt took off in his vehicle, officers said.

While he didn’t get away with cash, he reportedly stole the breakfast that was delivered to him.

Police said Truitt attempted to rob the Sonic at 36th Street and Peoria in Brookside, but he wasn't able to net cash or food there, and the carhop pleaded with him to leave.

Officers said they set up patrols at area Sonic restaurants and spotted Truitt at 8 a.m. at 81st and Lewis. He was arrested in the Office Depot parking lot without incident, TPD said.

A loaded firearm, knife, Sonic food a small amount of marijuana were recovered in Truitt's vehicle, according to police.

Truitt has been booked into the Tulsa County jail for two complaints of robbery with a firearm/dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony.

Online court records show Truitt was convicted for unauthorized use of a vehicle in Tulsa County in 2012. He was convicted of assault with intent to commit a felony in Wagoner County in 2009.

Truitt also has three separate misdemeanor convictions that stem from 2012 – obstructing an officer, malicious injury to property for defacing the Tulsa County jail, threatening to kill a Tulsa County deputy and his family.

Truitt was charged with second-degree burglary in Wagoner County 2010 and pleaded guilty to amended misdemeanor charges. A warrant was issued earlier this month for his arrest in connection to that case after he failed to make payments to the court on time. He has been ordered to show up at a hearing in February 2016 for the same issues in the Tulsa County cases.
