Ponca City, Oklahoma - An inmate who escaped from a work crew in Muskogee on Tuesday was recaptured early Wednesday morning in Ponca City.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections says Douglas Wilson was arrested at the Osage Casino in Ponca City around 2 a.m. He was alone.

The DOC says it doesn't know how he got there, but is checking to see if someone helped Wilson escape.

Wilson has a criminal record dating back to the 1980s and was serving a 10-year term at the J. H. Lilley Correctional Facility in Boley, beginning in August of 2014, for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, endangering others while eluding police and concealing stolen property out of Kay County.

He was also serving a 5-year term for aggravated DUI out of Tulsa County that began in December of 2014.

DOC hasn't said how his escape will affect his sentences.
