Increasing south winds will be experienced today with afternoon highs moving into the upper 50s and lower 60s with mostly sunny conditions.   Friday Night Football games will be chilly but dry with games being played in the mid-40s with south winds at 10 mph.   Saturday will also be pleasant but breezy with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

The main item of interest continues to be the mid-level trough that will move near the state Saturday night and Sunday with increasing clouds and the possibility for a few showers or sprinkles.   The data continue to support a very dry lower level.   This means our chances for any measurable precipitation will remain on the slim side.   We had a 20% chance yesterday morning for the Sunday period and probably should lower that pop to 10%.   We can’t totally rule out a few showers or sprinkles but the chances appear very low.   I’ll keep the chance at 20 for one more day.   The clouds Sunday should keep the highs in the lower or mid-50s with northwest winds at 10 to 15 mph.

The pattern next week will feature a warming trend next week with morning lows in the 30s and eventually the lower 40s with afternoon highs moving into the upper 50s Monday and into the lower 60s Tuesday through Thursday.   The data also support another upper level trough moving across the nation late next week but additional cold air will move down from northwestern Canada into the intermountain region.   This colder air will arrive sometime Saturday and could be re-enforced with another shot of cold air early next week.   There will remain a low chance for a few showers or storms Saturday across eastern OK as a cold front moves across the state.   Some precipitation may also occur Monday and Tuesday, December 14th-15th across the central plains with the cold air remaining in place.   Stay tuned.

Thanks for reading the Friday morning weather discussion and blog.

Have a super great day!
