Police say three people are hurt after a shooting near a middle school - two of them children.

Shots rang out around 7:00 Wednesday night at Monroe Demonstration School on 48th Street. The victims then drove to the QuickTrip around the corner for help.

Police said the shooters are still on the run; they believe they took off in a blue minivan, possibly a Chevy HHR.

All three victims are related - Gisela Marroquin, her 10-year-old son, and 15-year-old daughter.  Police said the victims' injuries are not life threatening.

Tulsa Police Sergeant, Ken Simpson said, "The mother was shot once in her lower back, her 15-year-old daughter was shot twice - once in the arm once in the leg - she also had an underage male child in the car, he was hit by a bullet in his hand."

Police found at least 11 shell casings on or near school property. They said both parties were in their cars at the time of the shooting.

One of the victims told police they were at the parking lot to buy prescription pills when someone started shooting at their vehicle.

Police said the victims then drove away to the QuickTrip on North Lewis for help.

One neighbor who lives across from the school said the gunshots were too close for comfort.

"We barely just walked in the door. We heard shots being fired, we hit the floor. That's how close it was," William Blakely said.

Police are trying to get surveillance video from Monroe Demonstration School so they will have more information to work with.
