Two people were thrown from an SUV in rollover crash in Wagoner County early Friday.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a 1996 Jeep Cherokee was northbound on South 273rd East Avenue at 6th Avenue in the Fair Oaks area at about midnight when it left the road, struck a ditch and rolled over several times.

Troopers said the driver, Phillip Pittman, 31, of Tahlequah, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured. The crash ejected the two passengers; Tia Newberry, 36, and Troy Robinson, 37, both from Broken Arrow.

A medical helicopter flew Newberry to the hospital, a ground ambulance took Robinson. He was treated and released. Newberry was admitted in stable condition, the OHP said.

The OHP report states neither passenger was wearing a seat belt. Troopers said they believe inattentive driving caused the crash.
