Tulsans March Against Gun Violence On Sandy Hook Anniversary

Dozens of Green Country citizens marched in Tulsa for an end to gun violence with the group Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense In America. They met at 15th and Peoria to raise awareness on the three-year anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Twenty children and six staff members lost their lives at the school in Newtown, Connecticut in 2012.

Supporters of stronger gun laws met at 15th and Peoria to raise awareness of gun violence. Moms Demand Action has chapters in all 50 states working for solutions to what they call a public health crisis - the number of American children shot and killed every day.

Rabbi Marc Fitzerman, the Rev. Twila Gibbens and former Tulsa Chief of Police Drew Diamond spoke about the impact of guns on communities and what can be done to stop mass shootings like those at Sandy Hook and Columbine.
