Thunder forward Serge Ibaka and his foundation kept the holiday spirit alive by surprising four Oklahoma City single mothers and their children with a Walmart shopping spree.

When Ibaka was a child his mother died and his father was put in prison. At one point, he had no one, no food, and he was sleeping on the streets, so he understands what it’s like to face hardships and live in a single parent home.

During the shopping trip, the OKC mainstay also gave the mom’s gift cards to help handle the tough responsibility of raising children alone.

Earlier this month, the foundation also provided Ricardo, young Congolese basketball player from Ibaka's Son of the Congo documentary, with the basketball shoes he had hoped for.
