Shortly after being cut by the Dallas Cowboys, former OSU cornerback Tyler Patmon has signed with the Miami Dolphins.

Patmon was eligible to stay with Dallas as a part of the team's practice squad but opted to explore his options.

"We wanted him back," Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said in a presser.

Patmon played two seasons with Dallas before his release on Tuesday and has now been added to the Dolphins practice squad.

“We felt like this was the move for our team right now,” said Garrett. “He’s been a good player for us and he has a chance to be a good player in this league.”

Garret also added that the Cowboys wanted to give someone else the chance to hold down the nickel position. “Over time, he’s gotten a lot of opportunities and we feel like we’re going to give someone else an opportunity to do that job right now,” he explained.

Patman also made headlines not only for his aggressive play during the Cowboys training camp and being in the center of the notorious brawl with the Rams but for a fistfight with Dallas franchise player Dez Bryant.
