A Cleveland police officer is recovering after a serious crash on Highway 48 Friday night. Officer Jeremiah Godfrey was airlifted to a Tulsa hospital after the multi-vehicle wreck.

Cleveland Police Chief Clint Stout said Godfrey has several fractures to the upper body, including some to his face.

Stout expressed his gratitude for how many people are concerned for the officer. Godfrey was an area medic before entering his current rookie year at CPD.

The Cleveland American reports they have been getting messages from people asking how they can help Godfrey and his family. They are members of the Terlton Baptist Church, so it is suggested you contact the church for more information on assistance.
