Broken Arrow Police are taking part in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign crackdown on drunk driving. Officers hope Oklahoma drivers will take the pledge to end DUI driving.

The BAPD, Tulsa Police, Tulsa County Sheriff's Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and ABLE Commission will all be conducting saturation patrols over the next few weeks, according to Sergeant Keith Cook with the BA traffic unit.

The decision to drink or drug and drive puts everyone in danger, including the drunk driver, a news release notes.

"Of the 10,076 people who were killed in impaired-driving crashes in 2013, 65 percent were the drunk drivers themselves. Those 6,515 drunk drivers planned on making it to their destinations, but didn’t," Cook said in the release.

The Tipsy Tow program, offered by AAA Oklahoma, is in effect through January 2, 2016, in the Tulsa metro area, Oklahoma City, Bartlesville, Muskogee, Enid, Lawton, Shawnee, Tahlequah and Ardmore.

Party-goers who have been drinking can call 800-222-4357 and ask for Tipsy Tow. The program will provide -- at no charge -- up to two people a ride home and tow their vehicle with them, within 15 miles of the point of pickup.
