A collision between a dump truck and a communications cable caused some damage near Pine and 161st East Avenue Wednesday morning in Tulsa. A dump truck pulled the low-voltage communication cable down.

The driver told emergency crews the cold weather prevented the bed on the truck from going down when he lowered it.

Firefighters say the cable whipped out a weatherhead to a nearby business but did not appear to cause a lot of damage otherwise.

A much more serious incident took place Monday morning in downtown Tulsa. A dump truck with its bed up hit a power line, knocking out power to businesses and street lights.
