Tulsa's Coney Island Celebrates 90 Years With 90-Cent Dogs

An anniversary celebration today for an iconic downtown Tulsa eatery.

Coney Island has been in business for 90 years, and on Saturday, the owners said thank you to their customers by offering some vintage prices: 90-cent regulars and $1 cheese coneys.

The restaurant is in its new location in the Brady District, but it has been in Tulsa, and in the same family, for almost a century. They say hearing from the customers is one of the best parts of the job.

"I used to go to the Rialto (Theater) with a dollar.  There are so many cool stories we hear and it is great to keep such a wonderful tradition alive for so many years,” operations manager Vicki Economou said.
