Edmond police arrested a man accused of exposing himself at a grocery store, Saturday night and later breaking into a sorority house hours later.

Both police and the store confirm the man was walking up and down the aisles here exposing himself, and that the security cameras here captured it all on tape. The suspect managed to leave that store before police could arrest him. But hours later they found that same man at a sorority house less than four miles away.

911 Operator: What's going on there?

Caller: It's my sorority house and one of my roommates, she just woke up and there's a man in her room. And she doesn't know who it is.

911 Operator: OK.

That was the 911 call made by one of the girls at the Alpha Delta Pi house, early Sunday morning. Edmond Police say the man was found wandering the halls and even came out onto the balcony at the house. He is identified as 41-year-old Randell Scott Ashton and was discovered by one of the girls living at the house.

“Woke up at 2 o’clock in the morning with a man sitting at the end of her bed,” said Jenny Monroe with the Edmond Police Department.

Edmond Police say Ashton did not harm the girl or any of the other sorority sisters who were there that night - and was not able to gain access to any of the other girl's bedrooms since they were locked. So how did he get inside?

“We do believe one of the girls had her window open that night,” said Wagnon. “And that's how he got entry into the sorority house was through an open window.”

Inside the sorority house, police found a porno magazine belonging to Ashton. And when police were booking him in, they discovered he was wearing a pair of women's panties, taken from the house.

“One of the girls inside the sorority house was able to identify [the underwear] as hers,” said Monroe. “She had done her laundry and they were sitting out on top of her laundry and they were missing.”

As it turns out, Ashton is a convicted sex offender who served time in prison for Indecent Exposure for a 2001 case out of Grady County. He was also convicted in 2006 for failure to register as a sex offender.

Ashton is currently being held in the Oklahoma County jail on a $20,000 bond.
