Firefighters say a mother and her three children are getting help from the Red Cross after a fire damages their Tulsa duplex early Friday.

The Tulsa Fire Department was called just before 2 a.m to the duplex in the 1400 block of North Nogales just west of the Tisdale Expressway.

Firefighters said all four were asleep in an upper half of the duplex when the mother was woke up to the smell of smoke and spotted flames by the stairway nearby.

All four made it out a bedroom window and onto the roof where a neighbor helped them down.

The fire department said there was no working smoke detectors in the home.  Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
