The need for rain across northeast Oklahoma is about to be met, but there are also some flooding concerns associated with it.

According to the News On 6 WARN Team, scattered showers and storms are expected to move into the Tulsa metro around 3:30 p.m. Monday evening with rain chances increasing throughout the day.

News On 6 Forecast Page

News On 6 meteorologist, Mike Grogan, said those chances will increase overnight and into Tuesday morning before taking a break. Then, he said, we’re expected to see more rain Tuesday night.

He said rain will hang around into Wednesday before starting to taper off that afternoon.

All the rain will help keep our temperatures low, in the 50s to low 70s, but Grogan said there are also some flooding concerns.

He said we could see anywhere between two to five inches, the highest totals on the eastern side of the state.

Weather Alerts

Flash Flood Watches have been issued for Adair, Choctaw, Haskell, Latimer, LeFlore, McCurtain, Pushmataha and Sequoyah counties.

Grogan said, while the chances for severe weather is low – mostly just rain – high winds are a concern and that hail and isolated tornadoes can’t be ruled out.
