It's every parent's nightmare, a disaster hitting while they're separated from their children. How do you keep your kids safe when they're at school or soccer practice or left at home alone?

You educate them. Inspire confidence in place of fear. And here at News On 6, we're making it our mission to come along side you to help with that.

That's where Trav's Wild Weather Camp comes into play. Every year, our team travels to schools throughout Green Country to teach kids about severe weather.

When it's show time, we get a little goofy. And have a lot of fun.

But our mission through it all is to inspire kids to be proactive and calm in the midst of scary conditions.

When tornados sweep in, they'll know where to go.

When lightning strikes, they'll know how energy works and the power it has.

And when the floods come, they'll understand the danger of high waters.

"Turn around, don't drown."

So even kiddos can be ahead of the storm.
