Stillwater Police say several matching sets of footprints helped them solve a series of recent business break-ins near the Oklahoma State campus.

Police say 23-year-old David Ingalls entered at least five businesses through the roof. Those businesses include Hideaway Pizza, Pecks Lodge, and Beadles Portrait Gallery.

Police said whey they served a warrant at Ingalls’ apartment, he was wearing shoes that matched the shoe print the suspect left at most of the break-ins. Police also found numerous handwritten notes about accessing roofs of area businesses, and what tools to use.

Dan Scroggs owns Pecks Lodge.

“I was told by the police that after the arrested the gentleman, they had several drawings of all the rooftops around here, intricate drawings, so I am assuming that probably took a couple Google Maps where you can go down on a building top and draw what buildings have a trap door,” said Scroggs.

Scroggs said Ingalls fleeced his business for $7,400 in Kendra Scott jewelry back on January 30.

Surveillance video from that burglary shows a suspect that police say was Ingalls.

Ingalls had been out on bond for two previous burglaries last November.
