Authorities are investigating an inmate's apparent suicide at the Oklahoma County Jail.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI,) Sunday evening, the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s office requested OSBI investigate the death of 58-year-old Dale Stanley Schmidt, who was found hanging inside his jail cell.

Schmidt was the only inmate occupying the cell. He was arrested and booked into the jail March 11, for lewd or indecent acts with a child under 16.
