UPDATE: Several Oklahoma counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning, including Kay, Noble, Jefferson, Carter, and Stephens counties counties, Wednesday afternoon.

At one point, Oklahoma, Canadian, Kingfisher and Logan counties were also under a severe thunderstorm warning.

Several Oklahoma counties are also under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m.

Meteorologist Lacey Swope said as of 3 p.m., no storms are threatening the Oklahoma City metro.

Wednesday afternoon, if skies clear out, we will have the potential for another round of storms. The storm count may be low, may only have one or two, but they could be strong.

As the dryline pushes east today, the storm chances will ramp up in central Oklahoma. At this time you can't rule out storms in northern, southern, or central Oklahoma. Best chances will be along I-35 initially. Storms that develop will quickly push to the east taking threat into eastern Oklahoma.

Timing: storms will develop between 3 and 6 p.m. The main threats today will still be large hail and damaging winds. The tornado threat is still low. Make sure you stay plugged in to the forecast over the next several hours, and of course stay with News 9, and we'll keep you advised.
