Tulsa Brookside DUI Checkpoint Nets 8 Arrests

Drivers in the Brookside area of Tulsa last night, may have had to take a little detour. Tulsa police set up a sobriety checkpoint near 41st and Peoria. It started at 10 p.m. and ended shortly after 2 a.m.

In those four hours, police checked 248 cars, made eight arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence and three other misdemeanor arrests. They wrote 134 tickets.

Police noticed an SUV trying to avoid the checkpoint and ended up chase two teenage girls out for a joyride.

The Oklahoma Highway Safety Office paid overtime to police and Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers as part of the campaign to ENDUI.
