5:01 PM SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE

Severe storms continue their northeast movement through western and southwestern Oklahoma. Right now, hail is the main threat, but the storms are rotating, and the tornado threat is still active. We're watching these closely with live updates on News 9.

A tornado watch was issued shortly after 3 p.m. for western and central Oklahoma.

The dryline is setting up in western Oklahoma and will be the focus point for potentially severe storms. Storms that do develop could carry up to tennis ball size hail, have wind gusts to 70 mph, and have the potential to produce tornadoes.

The most likely area for tornado development will be in western Oklahoma after 3 p.m.

We'll be monitoring the threat all afternoon and evening.
