A Tulsa man running for Congress is calling out current U.S. Congressman Jim Bridenstine for refusing to sign a pledge to not raise taxes.

Businessman Tom Atkinson signed the "Taxpayer Protection Pledge" today.

He promised to oppose any and all efforts to increase taxes for individuals and businesses if he is elected.

He says Senators Jim Inhofe and James Lankford have made the same pledge... but Congressman Bridenstine will not.

"We're taxed enough,” Atkinson said. “Worker's paychecks are burdened enough with taxes. My business approach is to reduce waste and the bottom line."

Bridenstine responded by saying, "I do not sign pledges. My oath is to the Constitution of the United States."

Bridenstine says he has "a proven record of opposing both parties when they collude to increase spending and add to our national debt."
