There is a lot to clean up around the Creek County community of Bristow, the day after the National Weather Service says a tornado left a path of destruction.

Residents, along with neighbors and volunteers are turning out to help with storm recovery efforts.

"It's just crazy, the things that we're finding still," said Beth Roberts.

Beth and Gary Roberts spent the past year remodeling their Bristow farmhouse.  But when Tuesday's storm hit, Beth and their 14-year-old daughter took cover in their shelter as the storm tore through the rest of their home.

"We had a big covered deck on the back that's gone. I mean, it's affected everything now. It's tweaked on its base now, the foundation," said Beth Roberts.

The family also ran an animal refuge, keeping more than 100 animals on the property.  After the storm, there's only a handful of them left.

"Today, I'm just kind of in shock and just want to start cleaning up. I just want to start picking up and cleaning up and...it's gonna be a long road," said Beth Roberts.

The community is rallying around Roberts and other families affected by the storm.  James Okey heard Beth and Gary needed help, so he stopped by to lend a hand in the cleanup efforts.

"Bristow, Kellyville, all these small communities out here, they'll rally together and help out their neighbor," said James Okey.

Beth Roberts says she's thankful for good neighbors and that her family is safe.

"Had I not taken it seriously, my daughter was in the living room, she might not be here," Beth Roberts said.
