Muskogee Police: Man Approached, Nearly Exposed Himself to Children

A warning for Muskogee families: police say they're looking for a man who may have tried to expose himself to a group of young girls over the weekend.

The incident occurred on K Street, across the street from Irving Elementary, according to the girls. Seven-year-old Ellexis Brewer spoke to News On 6 about what she witnessed.

Now that it's summertime, when she's not on her scooter, Ellexis is probably playing with her neighbors.

"I like to sing and play with friends," she said.

Ellexis and her cousins all live on the same block. But playtime hasn't been the same since a strange man approached the girls.

They were all playing and climbing trees in an empty lot about four houses down from Ellexis's at the time, she said, when a man pulled up in a black pickup truck, rolled down the window and said some vulgar things to the girls.

"He just, like, raised up his shirt and started talking nasty," she said.

The man was talking about his privates, and he started to unbutton his pants, Ellexis said. The girls ran home to tell their grandmother. Rhonda Norton filed a police report right away.

"That's an eerie, eerie feeling," Norton said. "That's something that no grandparent, no parent at all wants to go through."

Muskogee police said this could be the same man who exposed himself to kids at a bus stop near 41st and Jefferson back in April. Officer Lincoln Anderson said the car descriptions in both cases are the same - black pickup truck with bars across the back window.

Ellexis told officers the man looked to be in his thirties, with a shaved head and a short beard.

Anderson said the department needs the public's help to find the man before things escalate.

"Jerks like this, going around doing things like that, these kids don't deserve that," Anderson said. "There's no reason for it."
