Brown Mackie College In Tulsa Says It's No Longer Accepting New Students

A for-profit college with a campus in Tulsa has announced it is no longer accepting new students. 

Brown Mackie College located at 4608 South Garnett sent an email statement to its current students Friday and posted a short notice on its local website

In the email statement, the college states they are not closing the school immediately. But adds, they will work with their current students to determine the "best path forward."  And they "will also work with other educational institutions to put articulation agreements in place so that students have as many choices as possible regarding their education." 

The Brown Mackie College statement goes on to say "our regulators and accrediting bodies have been informed of our decision to cease enrolling new students and we will continue to work with them through this transition. Brown Mackie College - Tulsa is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). We will continue to work with ACICS to ensure compliance with all applicable standards for accreditation."

According to the college's website, the Brown Mackie College which has its administrative offices in Cincinnati, Ohio has campuses at 25 locations in the U.S. 

In April, another for-profit school, Wright Career College filed for bankruptcy leaving many students and employees in limbo.
