A Tulsa man was arrested after he was caught with his pants down in his truck outside a Broken Arrow movie theater.  It happened Saturday morning outside the Cinemark at 1801 East Hillside Drive.

Someone called police after seeing John Ashley Paynter unconscious in the driver's seat with the door open, according to an arrest report. Police got to the parking lot just after 11:30 a.m. They said they called out to the 63-year-old man who was slumped over in the seat.

Paynter woke up but was disoriented, and the arresting officer said he had to tell him to pull up his pants, as his genitals were exposed.

When Paynter got out of the truck, the officer said he could see an unlabeled pill bottle with pills, an opened and empty bottle of Fireball whiskey and a brown mailer envelope that had numerous white pills in blister packs.

The report states in all, Paynter had more than 8,000 pills in his possession. The Tulsa man told officers he takes 20 to 30 Tramadol, a controlled pain medication, daily.

There were also two bottles of lubricant and pornographic magazines, according to the arrest report. Paynter told the officer he unbuttoned and pulled down his pants because they were uncomfortable, records show.

The officer said while he was talking to Paynter, dozens of vehicles and numerous children went past the truck where Paynter had been exposed.

The arrest report states Paynter works for Broken Arrow Public Schools and Walgreens, though it does not list his jobs. Paynter told police he got the medication through the mail.

Broken Arrow Schools confirmed Paynter works for the school system but said he did not directly work with students. He was suspended pending further investigation as soon as the school system was made aware of the arrest last night, a spokesperson said.

Paynter was booked on felony complaints of trafficking in a controlled dangerous substance and indecent exposure.
