The pattern continues to slowly change and will support more rain and storm chances through the end of the week and possibly into the weekend.   The best signals for a late night and early morning storm complex continues to be Thursday night into Friday and also Friday night into Saturday, but we’ll also keep a chance for Wednesday night into Thursday.   A few storms will remain possible today but most locations will remain dry.   Temperatures will move into the lower 90s again today with partly sunny conditions.   The heat index will top out around 100.

WARN Interactive Radar

We experienced a few pop up storms yesterday afternoon but most locations remained dry and warm.   This morning a few storms will remain to our west and also north,  but one or two may slip down across eastern OK before dissipating.   We anticipate that most locations will remain dry today and probably for most of Wednesday.   Wednesday morning a small complex may brush far northeastern OK with a weak front nearing the state.   By the end of the week, the upper ridge will be well west of the area creating a sharp northwest flow pattern.  This typically brings late night and pre-dawn storms across the area from the northwest to southeast.   Our forecast will have a decent chance for late Thursday night into Friday morning.   By this weekend, the ridge may attempt to expand eastward.   This would create a mostly zonal or west to east flow with the higher chances for storms across far northern OK and southern Kansas.

Ozone Alert

The flow will be near and we’re keeping a chance for storms across northern OK this weekend into the early hours of the 4th.

Temperatures this morning will stay in the lower to mid-70s in the metro with afternoon highs around 92 to 94 along with northeast winds at 10 mph.

The temperatures for the remainder of the week will slowly drop with lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s.   Highs in the lower 90s are likely Wednesday and into the upper 80s Thursday and Friday.

The approaching extended holiday weekend will feature a few storm chances this weekend with highs in the lower 90s.  The better chances will remain across northern OK.  Monday the 4th should be mostly dry after the early morning hours and the heat will begin building back across the area with highs in the mid-90s.
