Prosecutors have charged a McAlester man with first-degree manslaughter after a January 2016 crash on the Creek Turnpike.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol say Bennie Anderson, 30, was driving a pickup that wrecked just west of Harvard around 5 a.m. on January 24.   A passenger in the truck, John Virgin David Picard, 30, died at the scene after being partially ejected through the passenger side window.

Anderson suffered injuries in the crash and talked with troopers before he was taken to the hospital.
