Tulsa Hazmat crews responded to the Port of Catoosa after a potential hazardous materials leak was reported. News On 6 was initially told there was a hazardous materials leak inside a building, but authorities later said it was a false alarm.

A monitoring company reported the potential hazard with anhydrous ammonia to the Tulsa Fire Department around 8:15 a.m. Crews responded to Carlisle Brake and Friction at the north end of the Port of Catoosa, off Highway 266 on Verdigris Parkway.

Brad Banks, manager of operations for the Port, said the alarm company said there was a possible problem with anhydrous ammonia not cooling down sufficiently.

The fire department was called as a precautionary measure, but there was no leak, Banks said.
