A hiker is rescued from a trail on Turkey mountain after suffering from a heat-related illness. EMSA Supervisor David Yales said his agency got the call just after 9 p.m. Saturday. The woman told them she was unable to get back to her car, he said.
Tulsa firefighters hiked up a trail to find the woman who had two children with her. They requested help from EMSA's ATV, and Yales said they were able to locate the woman and firefighters on a trail.
"We transported her back to the ambulance which was in one of the parking lots," he said.
So far no word on how long she had been stuck on the trail.
Yales said the ATV comes in handy at events like marathons and especially parks and other remote areas an ambulance can't reach.
