Get ready Tulsa; the Sky over the Arkansas River is about to get a lot more colorful.

Pyro Shows Vice President Steve Frantz says his six-person crew has more than enough gun powder to amaze anyone who comes to see the show.

Frantz says they're using 10,000 pounds of gunpowder which is equivalent to about three tractors full of Black Cat Fireworks.

QuikTrip is sponsoring the show and it benefits the Folds of Honor - a group that provides educational opportunities for fallen soldiers and their children.

"The Fourth of July is all about the people who defend this country, and those special people who are emergency services here at home," explained Frantz.

The small crew has been here since last week working to put the Freedom Fest show together.

"We came in about noon on Thursday, and we worked Friday, Saturday and Sunday," stated Frantz.

All that hard work will finally pay off Monday night when all the wires and electronics finally get put to work. Each one of the mortars only fires once, creating a spectacular 20-minute show that you'll see in Tulsa.

"It's going to be a giant fireworks show from the 21st street bridge," said  Frantz.

So if you attend, arrive early and find a comfortable spot to celebrate your freedom.

With part of the Riverfront Park closed due to Gathering Place construction, finding a spot this year could be a little trickier than years past.

Frantz says either side of the river at the west stage and Veterans Park are wonderful locations.
