Signs of support law enforcement are popping in all sorts of places. One Green Country restaurant is mixing food with faith to show it backs the blue.

Many people know Wild Country Meats for its cattle car dining room and good food.

But today has been less about a free meal and more about showing appreciation for those who protect and serve.

It's lunch rush at Wild Country Meats in Hominy, and the parking lot is packed with patrol cars.

“Ramona and Skiatook,” owner Chris Gabriel said. “We've got Osage County. We've got Cleveland. Hominy in here as well, tons of Oklahoma Highway Patrolmen that have been in here.”

And inside the restaurant's unique cattle car dining room, officers who serve to protect are being served a free meal.

“This is a great blessing,” Osage County K9 Patrol Deputy Frank Cheesman said.

“We trust you guys,” Gabriel said to officers dining. “You guys do something that, man, I really look up and I always have.”

A free plate of BBQ is one way Gabriel is showing he backs the blue.

“I just want to stand up each one of us grab a hand,” he said to the crowd.

But the more important way, he says, is through prayer. For Gabriel, who also is a pastor in the area, faith is his daily go-to tool.

“I pray that today, each officer across this nation would know that they're supported and that they are loved,” he said.

About 50 law enforcement officers stopped in on Wednesday.

“See ya, buddy. Take it easy,” he said as he hugged a trooper.

They all had heavy hearts for their fallen brothers in Dallas after five were killed by a sniper last week.

But they left with a bit of hope that a country that's hurting can be healed.

“People need to know we're here for them,” FC said. “It doesn't matter their race, where they're from, we're here for everybody.”
