Strong winds snapped trees and knocked down power lines all over Broken Arrow Thursday afternoon.

There’s damage all around Spoke House Bicycles at the Rose District, as thousands of bricks were blown down by high winds.

The shop owner said the bricks are original to the building, meaning they've been there more than a century.

Now the hundreds of bricks, likely as old as Broken Arrow itself, are on the ground, unable to withstand the Oklahoma winds.

"I just couldn't believe that the wind could push over a brick wall like that. I saw all the damage on the way over here, the trees and stuff, we see that all the time but the brick wall," owner Zach Pfaff said.

Pfaff said none of his bikes were damaged, just some items in storage that got rained on because of the roof leaks. The same couldn't be said, however, for one customer's car that was parked in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The owner said Spoke House Bicycles will operate during regular business hours. Employees laid down tarp a Thursday afternoon to prevent more leaks.

"We got some tarps, we're going to fold that section of the roof back down - putting tarps down, tack it down and everything. Have some buckets. Fortunately, we're going to have some bricks to lay it down," Pfaff said.

He said an insurance adjuster will give a better idea of how much the damage will cost to repair.

Just a few miles away, heavy winds uprooted a huge tree in one Broken Arrow neighborhood, damaging one family's yard and sidewalk.

Red LaRiviere spent the afternoon looking at the damage in her neighborhood.

"We saw lots of crazy winds, you know, a lot of…we actually saw branches and limbs flying down the road," she said.

Tree limbs littered yards all across Broken Arrow; several heavy branches landed right on top of one home's garage, piercing the roof.

LaRiviere said she can't remember the last time she felt wind like this.

"I went out in it and I actually almost got blown away. I almost got blown down the street," she said.
