Glenpool police need your help catching a thief. Officers said the man's clean cut appearance may have helped him slip in and out unnoticed.

Police say the robbery happened at the Country Mart  grocery store on Elm.  The store's surveillance camera caught the suspect all throughout the store.  When they released the images, another woman stepped forward saying the suspect had been in her store too.

Video shows the man dressed in a T-shirt and short, walking into the store. He takes a look around the customer service desk, and just as fast he's over the counter in the register - grabbing handfuls of cash.

"He looks like soccer dad," said Detective Tracey Powell, Glenpool Police. "No one pays attention to him, and if you review in the video when he's climbing over the counter taking the money, another subject walks behind him and doesn't even notice him."

Powell said the robbery happened last week, and they are still looking for the man. Store employees reviewed the surveillance footage after finding the register open.

"I'm concerned he has a desperate task to get money quick - for whatever reason," Powell said.

Nancy Knight, owner of Nancy's Unique Gifts, said minutes before he entered the Country Mart, the man entered her shop.

"I didn't think anything of it; I thought he was a serious shopper waiting for his wife," she said. "That's what he told me."

Knight said after a few minutes, he asked to use her restroom.

When he came out he told her she needed to fix her toilet. Police think it could have been ploy to get her in the back so he could steal from her.

She's grateful, it didn't happen.

"He decided to not rob me because I'm so sweet. possibly, or because I'm very, very old," Knight said.

Police said since the suspect stole roughly $900, he could be charged with felony theft. If you recognize him, call Glenpool Police at 918-322-8110.
