A few pieces of Broken Arrow history now have new homes.

For almost a century, Broken Arrow's old high school served the students and the city.

Construction started last month on phase 1 of the new Kirkland Activities Complex, meaning the old classroom buildings are gone, but more than 250 people got the chance to keep some of the bricks as souvenirs.

Director of construction, Bob Tolomeo said, “We had about six pallets the first day and we went through that in about an hour and a half.”

Phase 1 includes re-purposing the former stadium into a soccer complex as well as renovating the existing gym and auditorium.
