Obama Shortens Prison Terms For Two Inmates From Oklahoma

Two Oklahoma men were among the 214 people President Barack Obama granted a commutation of sentencing to on Wednesday. Stephen Ramont Hardridge of Tulsa and Kenneth Le Kelley of Westville will both see shortened sentences, the White House announced.

Hardridge was sentenced to about 24 years imprisonment and 10 years of probation for selling cocaine and cocaine base. His prison sentence was commuted to expire on December 1 of 2016. He was sentenced in 2002, a news release states.

Kelley was sentenced in 2004 to 30 years in prison for methamphetamine-related charges including attempt to manufacture, and possession with intent to distribute. He was also convicted for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

His prison sentence was commuted to expire in 2018, conditional upon residential drug treatment.
