Man In Kansas Jail In Connection With Bartlesville Church Van Theft

Kansas authorities have arrested a man who is accused of stealing a Bartlesville church van late last month.

Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies say Christopher Stone, 38, of Bartlesville was arrested at an Independence, Kansas motel.

After that story about the stolen van appeared on NewsOn6.com, the van was sighted in Grove and then again in Independence.

Deputies say Stone is being held in their jail in connection with a burglary at Janzen Farms outside of Independence. Stone was also charged in Kansas with possession of methamphetamine.

First Church in Bartlesville recovered the van.  Despite it being trashed out inside and the church's wrap-around decal removed, they say they are pleased to have it back in Bartlesville.

Stone is also facing possible theft charges in Bartlesville.
