The Oklahoma Highway Patrol along with Tulsa Police and the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office arrested nine people during a sobriety checkpoint late Friday and early Saturday in mid town Tulsa.

The OHP hopes this sobriety checkpoint, which happened in the 700 block of South Harvard, will make people think twice before driving under the influence.

Looking at the numbers, the OHP says they stopped 175 drivers as part of this ENDUI effort.  Those stops resulted in nine DUI arrests, three misdemeanor drug arrests, one felony drug arrest and one gun arrest.

They also served eight misdemeanor warrants, all in an effort to save lives.

Money used to pay for the officers, deputies and troopers who took part in the sobriety checkpoint came from an Oklahoma Highway Safety grant.
