Tulsa Police say a 34-year-old man who claimed he was robbed early Tuesday ended up getting arrested himself.

Officers said just after 2:30 a.m., they got a call from a security guard at the Cimarron Apartments in the 13200 block of East 31st Street. They said the guard told them a man was trying to get into an apartment which wasn't his.

Police arrived and located John Louis Berry, IV outside a nearby grocery store. When questioned, Berry told police he had just been robbed at gunpoint. Police looked but couldn't find the alleged robber.

Police said they learned John Berry had an outstanding 2013 warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous charge. They arrested him and took him to the Tulsa County jail.
