Thursday, a judge denied a motion by former Tulsa police officer Shannon Kepler to have certain evidence thrown out of his first-degree murder trial.

Kepler's attorney asked the judge to toss out statements his client made during an early interrogation, claiming detectives ignored Kepler's request for an attorney.

The request was written on the back of his lawyer's business card. The detectives told the judge they didn't look at the back of the card.
