Teachers and staff with Tulsa Public Schools will be going door-to-door starting Monday, trying to find out why some high schoolers haven't shown up to school this year.

Keep Our Kids in School Week is a new TPS program that they say is designed to help increase the district's graduation rate and help students be successful.

So starting today, district staff will be knocking on doors and doing home visits with students who have been "no-shows" at school so far this year. Leading up to this point, the district has already been making phone calls and checking social media to see if they can track these students down.

Districts leaders have also been trying to find out if the absent students had a favorite teacher - and asking that teacher to come along.

They'll be doing home visits today through Friday, and will be focusing on tracking down high-schoolers - especially freshmen.
