Good morning. The active weather pattern will continue for the next 48 to 60 hours across portions of the state including several opportunities for showers and thunderstorms. We will also track at least a chance for a few showers and storms later this morning into the afternoon before additional shower and storm chances will arrive later tonight into Friday.

Temperatures this morning will start into the mid and upper 60s and finish later this afternoon it to the mid-80s.

The upper air flow will bring a disturbance out of Wyoming and Montana into the northern High Plains during the next 24 hours. At the surface a boundary which moved across the area yesterday morning is now lifting to the north this morning. A few showers and storms will remain a possibility.   A disturbance lifting out of the high plains of Texas may trigger some activity at midday across central OK.

Some hi-res data bring some activity into eastern OK by midday to afternoon. But later tonight, additional showers and thunderstorms will become likely as the above-mentioned disturbance across the inter mountain region ejects to the high plains and another surface boundary will eventually move southward over the next 36 to 48 hours this will increase the potential for showers and storms across part of Oklahoma.

There will continue to be a chance of showers and storms for Friday mid-morning through at least afternoon. With a tropical air mass and place, pockets of moderate to heavy rainfall will remain a possibility for some locations across Eastern Oklahoma. Daytime highs Friday should stay in the lower 80s and there is a chance a few locations will remain in the upper 70s.

The potential for a few showers and thunderstorms during Friday Night Football is still with us, but some data indicates the potential for a break by late afternoon through the early evening hours before more rain and thunderstorm activity arrives late Friday night through early morning Saturday.

Saturday morning through at least mid-day there will continue to be some spotty showers and thunderstorms across part of Eastern and Northern Oklahoma but the coverage may decrease quickly after the early morning hours. As the day moves along, showers and storms will migrate to the south and should end from the north to the South by mid-day through early afternoon.   Temperatures this weekend will also start in the sixties for morning lows and end with daytime highs in the lower or mid-eighties.

The extended forecast will continue to bring one more disturbance across the area sometime Sunday exiting Monday morning.  This may bring another round of a few showers and thunderstorms Sunday for part but not all of eastern Oklahoma.  As this disturbance eject from the Eastern Oklahoma area Monday morning, showers and thunderstorms will dwindle and temperatures will rise.   The EURO continues to bring a mid-level ridge of high pressure across the southern plains for a few days next week.  This should bring temperatures above the seasonal average back to the state for the middle of next week.

Thanks for reading the Thursday morning weather discussion and blog.

Have a super great day!
