A group of people protested Wednesday outside City Hall.

The protesters said they want justice in the Terence Crutcher shooting case and more of a voice at city hall.

Peaceful from beginning to end, the protest wasn't even loud until someone found a bullhorn near the end of it.

Many of the people in attendance said the protest is about one thing.

"I'm here because she overreacted and this man is dead, period," said Tulsan Shameka Glover.

Glover and about two dozen other people stood outside city hall while the council met inside.

A few protested the slow process of the city developing an "African Affairs Commission." Most said they were there because of Terence Crutcher.

"If you're a man of color, it seems like doing the right thing doesn't seem to matter, because if you're caught at the wrong place at the wrong time, wrong things could happen to you.  And we're fed up with it, fed up with not having any justice," said Jabari Burks.

"When they've done what they've done recently with the death of Terence Crutcher, they need to pay for it just like I would have to pay for it if I took somebody's life," said Cleo Harris Jr.

Several African American men mentioned their own experience of frequent stops by police and unusual scrutiny.

Joseph Henderson doesn't believe race was necessarily involved in the Crutcher shooting.

"It's a lot of pressure on the police nowadays and sometimes they overreact," Henderson said. "They're human like the rest of us, and she overreacted."
